Last updated 12 October 2026. Plain language, because terms nobody reads protect nobody. This page is not legal advice and has not been reviewed by a lawyer — if you are taking payment or operating at scale, have one read it.
Every episode Audkast produces is written and voiced by AI. The presenters are not real people. Their names, voices and personalities are synthetic, and no human reviewed an episode before it was published unless you reviewed it yourself.
Each episode discloses this aloud as it closes, and every RSS entry repeats it in text. Do not remove those disclosures. Several jurisdictions now require synthetic media to be labelled, and podcast directories increasingly require it as a condition of listing.
Audkast can follow a publication's feed and produce a recurring show about what that publication reported. This is commentary and summary, which is a long-standing and lawful use of published news — and it stops being lawful when the summary becomes a substitute for the original.
Audkast is built to stay on the right side of that line, and you are responsible for keeping it there:
What you must not do: reproduce articles in full, present another outlet's work as your own, use a publication's name or logo as your show's branding in a way that implies partnership, or bypass a paywall to obtain material. Feeds are polled at a conservative interval with conditional requests; do not configure Audkast to hammer a site, and respect a publisher who asks you to stop.
Commentary you generate is yours. The underlying facts and any quoted phrase remain the
publication's. Each feed shows this split in its <copyright> line.
Every script is checked before audio is rendered: specifics — money, percentages, dates, quotes — must be traceable to the source material, and an independent pass audits claims the source does not support. Episodes that fail are not published.
That check catches invented specifics. It cannot catch a wrong inference drawn from real facts, an omission, or an error already present in the source. An episode passing verification is not a guarantee that it is right. AI-generated summaries contain errors. Nothing produced here is professional advice — financial, legal, medical or otherwise. Verify anything you intend to act on against the linked original.
Material you upload stays yours. You grant Audkast only what it needs to run: to store your material, send it to the AI providers that generate scripts and audio, and host the resulting episodes for you. Audkast does not sell your content or use it to train models.
You confirm you have the right to upload what you upload. Do not upload material you do not own or have permission to use.
When you share a show in the library, you allow Audkast to make its episodes available to other users for as long as it stays shared, and other users to listen to them. You are responsible for that choice: share a show made from your own material only if you have the right to, and never one containing confidential or personal information about someone else.
Generated audio and scripts are yours to use. Note that AI output may not attract copyright protection in some jurisdictions.
You are responsible for what you ask Audkast to make and for what you do with it. Do not use Audkast to make, or try to make, an episode that:
Dark subjects are not banned; harmful purposes are. History, journalism, true crime, and episodes about how harm happens and how it is prevented are all fine. An episode whose point is to help someone cause harm is not.
How this is enforced. Every request is read by an automated check before anything is made. A request that breaks these rules is refused, and a record of the refusal is kept: what was asked, which rule it broke, the account and the time. Requests that suggest a risk to someone's safety are also shown to the operator. We may remove an episode, suspend or close an account that breaks these rules or keeps trying to, and we may pass information to the police or another authority where the law requires it or where we believe someone is in danger. The automated check can be wrong in both directions; if it refused something it should not have, tell us at the address below.
If you are in crisis. Audkast is not a crisis service and cannot help in an emergency. In the US and Canada call or text 988. In the UK and Ireland call Samaritans on 116 123. Elsewhere, findahelpline.com lists free local lines. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call your local emergency number.
Feed URLs are fetched by our servers. Only public http(s) addresses are accepted; private and internal addresses are rejected.
What is stored: your email address, a hashed password (never the password itself), a username and a display name if you gave one; your shows and their settings; material you upload; generated research, scripts and audio; and per-episode usage records used for billing and spend limits.
What the app adds: where you are in each episode, so playback resumes across devices; your bookmarks, subscriptions, topic requests, pronunciation fixes and the feedback you leave on episodes; and any problem you report, with the text you wrote.
Refused requests. If you ask for something the acceptable-use rules do not allow, the text of that request, the rule it broke and the time are kept against your account, and may be read by the operator. Requests that are allowed are not recorded this way. Your requests, and the opening of any material you supply, are read by an automated check (run by Anthropic, already listed below) to decide which is which.
Your username is the only name other people can see, on anything you choose to share. Your email address and display name are never shown to other users.
Agreement. The date you agreed to these terms and the version you agreed to.
Diagnostics from the app. The Android app records a short list of technical events — that it started, that a background check for new episodes ran, that a download or a notification succeeded or failed — and uploads them with the app version and a random identifier for that install. They exist so a fault on a phone can be found; they do not record what you listen to beyond which episode an action concerned, and they are not used for advertising. You can turn them off in the app under Settings, which also discards anything not yet sent.
What is not collected: no location, contacts, photos, microphone or advertising identifier. The app asks for one permission, notifications, so the player can appear on the lock screen and you can be told when an episode is ready.
Who else sees it: your material and prompts are sent to Anthropic (research and scripts) and to Google or fish.audio (text-to-speech) to generate episodes. Audio is stored with Cloudflare. The database is hosted by Neon. Emails — sign-in links, password resets and "your episode is ready" — are sent through Resend. That is the complete list of processors, and none of them is given your data for their own marketing.
The shared library. A show you make from a topic is shared in the Audkast library unless you switch that off when you create it, or later from the show's menu. A shared show can be found and played by anyone with an account, and shows your username. It shows nothing else about you. A show made from documents you supply is private unless you choose to share it, and you should share it only if the material is yours to share and holds nothing confidential. Shows built on news feeds are never shared. Making a show private again, or deleting it or your account, removes it from the library.
Feed links are secret, not private. Anyone holding a show's RSS URL can subscribe to it. The URL contains a random token and is not listed anywhere, but treat it like a password. Audio links are short-lived and signed.
Deletion. You can delete your account yourself, at any time: in the app under Settings → Delete account, or on the web at /delete-account. It removes your account, shows, uploaded material, scripts, audio, listening history and diagnostics immediately and cannot be undone; the page lists exactly what goes and the little that is kept. Archived shows keep their audio until you delete them or your account, so a mis-click does not destroy a season.
Children. Audkast is not directed at children and is not intended for anyone under 13.
No advertising trackers, no analytics sold on, no third-party cookies.
If a show summarises your publication and you want it changed or stopped, contact the address below with the show's feed URL and what you are asking for. We will act promptly: a show can be paused, its attribution corrected, or a feed source blocked from being tracked at all. You do not need to file anything formal first — asking is enough.

Audkast is provided as is, without warranty. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and total liability is limited to what you paid in the previous twelve months.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for the requests you make, the material you supply and what you do with an episode, including sharing it. If your use of Audkast breaks these terms or the law and that leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover the cost of it. An episode is information, not professional advice: it is not a substitute for a doctor, a lawyer, a financial adviser or an emergency service, and nothing in one should be relied on for a decision that matters without checking it.
The honest version: this is automated software that summarises other people's writing using models that sometimes get things wrong. It is useful and it is not authoritative. Treat every episode as a well-informed starting point, not as a finding of fact.
Questions about any of this? Ask before you publish, not after.
